ACWR meets for a conference every three years. This triennial schedule is supplemented by annual meetings at Society of American Archivist’s annual conferences in the summer, and by bi-annual ACWR board meetings.

ACWR has been holding conferences since the early 1990s. Location for the conferences vary every gathering, usually taking place in large cities in the United States.
Programs for the 2012 and 2015 conferences can be found below. Presentation information is available for conferences between 1994 and 2015.
If you have a request for a copy of a presentation, contact ACWR.
ACWR Biannual Board Meetings
ACWR holds bi-annual board meetings in the fall and spring, to review organizational projects, make any needed changes to the bylaws, plan for the triennial conferences, and review the budget.
ACWR at SAA
Since many members of ACWR are also members of the Society of American Archivists (SAA), it has been practice for those attending SAA’s annual conferences to hold a meeting of ACWR. Traditionally, those sessions were scheduled on the Thursday of SAA in the early afternoon. It hasn’t always been easy for ACWR members to go to SAA because of the cost of the larger meeting, so in the past few years, attendance has been declining. So currently, ACWR’s board decided to suspend the annual gathering at SAA and to concentrate on the Triennial meetings.
However, ACWR still informally has a presence at SAA. Members are encouraged to meet at SAA, those who choose to attend. ACWR’s board also frequently “womans” a table in the registration booth area. The table holds “take away” items, membership information and other paperwork, and serves as an information station for those interested in the organization.
