ACWR Nomination and Election Information

ACWR holds an election each spring – annually for the position of vice president/president-elect and triennially for the position of secretary. In the months leading up to the election, the ACWR national office circulates a request for nominations. Members are encouraged to submit
nominations after obtaining permission from a potential candidate. Members are also encouraged to self-nominate. The two elected positions are:

Vice President/President-Elect
The position of vice president/president-elect is an annual election. This role is a three-year commitment, with the individual serving in the role of vice president in year 1; president in year 2; and past president in year 3. Each role oversees at least one committee. The president serves as the executive head and spokesperson for ACWR while the vice president and past president serve in supporting roles.

Secretary
The position of secretary is a triennial election. This role is a three-year commitment. The secretary is responsible for completing minutes for board meetings as well as overseeing the Publications Committee. The next election for the position of secretary is scheduled for 2025.

Other ACWR Service Openings
The ACWR also has other avenues for members to use their gifts and talents. Members are encouraged to become active on an ACWR committees: Education Committee; Mentoring Committee; New Member Orientation Committee; Nomination and Election Committee; and
Publications Committee. Members should contact the ACWR national office if interested in joining a committee.
