The Archivists for Congregations of
Women Religious (ACWR) is a professional organization dedicated to
achieving the following objectives:
- Collaborate with women's
religious congregations in long-range planning for preservation of
archival resources;
- Share archival and records
management expertise with ACWR as well as in broader archival circles;
- Encourage professional growth,
development and commitment to the archival profession
through ACWR membership;
- Develop documentation strategies
to assure access to historical resources maintained by women's religious
congregations;
- Enhance professional services of
researchers, writers and archivists of women's religious
congregations through collaborative archival efforts;
- Collaborate actively and
effectively with the Conference on the History of Women Religious and
all historians who conduct research in the field of women's studies and
church history.
