Brown Hotel registration link:
With the launch of our early bird conference registration, many members have asked if it was possible to book the Brown Hotel now with our contracted room rate of $159 a night. I spoke with our event coordinator, Pam Hoeppner, and she graciously provided us a direct link to booking rooms through their online reservation system:

https://www.phgsecure.com/IBE/bookingRedirect.ashx?propertyCode=SDFBH&group=091318ACWR&arrivalDate=09-12-2018&departureDate=09-16-2018&numberOfNights=4

From this link, our room rate code appears to be 091318ACWR. So, if you plan to call and make reservations, this code should provide our discounted rate for the conference dates. If you encounter any problems with either the online or phone reservation options, please let me know and I’ll work with the hotel to get the issue resolved.

ACWR has been holding conferences since the early 1990s. Location for the conferences vary every gathering, usually taking place in large cities in the United States.

Programs for the 2012 and 2015 conferences can be found below. Presentation information is available for conferences between 1994 and 2015.

If you have a request for a copy of a presentation, contact ACWR.

ACWR at SAA

Since many members of ACWR are also members of the Society of American Archivists (SAA), it has been practice for those attending SAA’s annual conferences to hold a meeting of ACWR. Traditionally, those sessions were scheduled on the Thursday of SAA in the early afternoon. It hasn’t always been easy for ACWR members to go to SAA because of the cost of the larger meeting, so in the past few years, attendance has been declining. So currently, ACWR’s board decided to suspend the annual gathering at SAA and to concentrate on the Triennial meetings.

However, ACWR still informally has a presence at SAA. Members are encouraged to meet at SAA, those who choose to attend. ACWR’s board also frequently “womans” a table in the registration booth area. The table holds “take away” items, membership information and other paperwork, and serves as an information station for those interested in the organization.

ACWR Biannual Board Meetings

ACWR holds bi-annual board meetings in the fall and spring, to review organizational projects, make any needed changes to the bylaws, plan for the triennial conferences, and review the budget.
